The ski resort organizes a number of events, including the largest international ones. The start of this year's ski season will take place here on December 11 and 12, 2021, but it is already possible to buy the so-called Smart Season, which also applies to 10 resorts in Central Europe. However, the planned connection of the Svatý Petr and Medvědín complexes has been postponed for a year.
The Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort is gradually preparing for the winter season. Lovers of downhill skiing can already buy the Smart Season for the coming winter 2021/22, the most advantageous all-season ski passes at a discount. The smart season is valid in the resorts Mölltaler Gletscher (AT), Ankogel (AT) and Muttersalm (AT), Jasná (SK), Tatranská Lomnica (SK), Štrbské pleso (SK), Starý Smokovec (SK), Szczyrk - SMR / BSA / COS (PL), Spindleruv Mlyn (CZ) and Jested (CZ). Until November 30, you will pay CZK 12,790 for this season ticket, and from December CZK 13,490.
The new season in Špindl will start on the weekend of December 11 and 12, when the opening event will take place with a varied accompanying program Ski Opening 2021.
The largest investment project in Czech ski resorts was to start this year. The main reasons for the delay include the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The planned investment in interconnection is in the hundreds of millions of crowns.
The center of the interconnection of the premises will be a parking terminal for more than 200 cars, on the roof of which the lower stations of the cable cars will be built. The terminal will be located in the current P1 car park by the Labská dam, near the entrance to the city. The cable car should lead from it to about half of the slopes in Medvědín.
On the opposite side to the Svatý Petr area to the upper station of the Hromovka cable car, a chairlift is to lead. Skiers still have to travel by ski bus or car between the two resorts, and the city promises, among other things, significant traffic calming since construction.
One of the new downhill runs will lead in the direction from Medvědín in the immediate vicinity of the most built-up area, Bedřichov. The ski resort will also build a new pumping facility for snowmaking, water will be pumped from the Elbe dam. The project to connect ski resorts, the implementation of which should take two years, should start in 2022.
One of the largest ski resorts in the Czech Republic offers its visitors about 27 km of slopes and tens of kilometers of well-groomed cross-country trails. Several chair lifts lead to the peaks, including the modern heated six-seater cable car to Pláň, and a number of ski lifts are available to skiers.
Families with children and beginner skiers, as well as experienced and demanding skiers and snowboarders will find their ideal piste on offer. In addition, the black ski slope of the FIS World Cup in the Svatý Petr area has international parameters and the most important and largest ski races are held there. And that's definitely not all! There are several specialties prepared for everyone in the form of a funtrack (Hromovka area) or a snow park (Mísečky area) with a number of various elements on the piste for even more fun. A local rarity is also the measured Audi Race Track in the upper part of the ski slope on Plány (Svatý Petr complex).
