Tourism Dvůr Králové nad Labem
From a distance it looks like a castle, but it isn’t a castle. The Royal Forest, as it’s called is considered to be the most beautiful dam in the Czech Republic. It borrowed its name from the neighbouring former royal forest. When you visit it, you’ll feel as if you’re in a fairytale. Thanks to its location in the forested valley of the river Elbe, and its architectonic rendering, the dam is one of the most beautiful in the entire Czech Republic, and perhaps that’s why it was declared a National Technical Monument in the year 1964. It’s easily accessible from Dvůr Králové nad Labem, by foot or by car. You can also take a walk through the adjacent forests. The local educational trails, watched over by Krakonoš, lord of the mountains himself, can also take you to Hájemství.
